"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13 (NIV)
Holding on to a grudge doesn’t hurt the other person; it hurts you. Left unchecked, it becomes a constant voice in your head, reshaping how you think, speak, and live.
Unforgiveness is a cruel punishment you inflict on yourself. Jesus knew this about the human heart, which is why He emphasized the need to forgive again and again. Forgiveness isn’t excusing the offense; it’s choosing freedom over bondage.
God has already forgiven us more than we could ever count. If He extends such abundant grace, how can we withhold forgiveness from others?
Today is the day to release the grudge. Let go of the hurt. Forgive whoever did whatever to you. Unlock the prison gate you’ve been sitting behind and walk into the freedom God designed for you.
THE RIGHT NEXT STEP:
- Identify one person you’re holding a grudge against. Pray for the strength to forgive them today, and release the burden you’ve been carrying.
PRAY: Lord, thank You for forgiving me completely. Help me to release my grudges and forgive others as You have forgiven me. Free me from bitterness and fill me with peace. Amen.
